Our school's Astronomy and Modern Physics club (7th Experimental Junior High School of Trikala) aims to extend the Physics lessons beyond the boundaries of the traditional curriculum to introduce modern Physics and Cosmology topics. We seek to extend our students' understanding of basic physical quantities such as time, space, gravity, and the structure of matter. The standard model provides the basis for understanding the elementary particles and their interactions. In November 2023, 44 Greek students visited CERN. Our students felt excited by what they saw, and their interest in CERN and the achievements of science became more intense. Unfortunately, they could not visit the underground facilities of the experiments. This Virtual visit will allow them to make students happy and their CERN experience completed.

On December 12th and 13th, in Piracicaba in São Paulo State, there will be a Master Class event to present CERN, the LHC, the ATLAS and CMS detectors to students in the SESI-Piracicaba/SP. We will complement this event with a virtual visit to the ATLAS detector. This visit is organised in Brazil by professor Nelson Barrelo Jr (UFF/Sprace) and by the researcher Denis Oliveira Damazio (BNL/CERN) in Geneva. The visit will take place in the first day of the event. The Polytechnic School at the Federal University of Bahia (Poli-UFBA), Salvador, Brazil, will organize between the 11th and 15th of December, 2023 the summer edition of the Arts, Culture, Science and Technology Week (Poli-ACTA). This event happens three times each year and intends to present new perspectives in science and technology for graduate and undergraduate engineering students. At Poli-UFBA, there are 11 undergraduate and six graduate courses in different areas of engineering, such as Electrical and Computer, Mechanical, Production, and Chemical Engineering, comprising more than 5000 active students. A group of 20 A-level students finished a particle and quantum physics course. To add modern-day context to their studies, introducing students to how particles are detected would be a fantastic idea. Gaining a greater understanding of research and inside laboratories is a unique opportunity and will hopefully inspire future physicists.
