This is an online meeting of the Primary School of Assiros with the ATLAS experiment at CERN in the context of, on the one hand, introducing the students to the centre and, on the other hand, expanding their knowledge about the research fields it deals with.
This ATLAS Virtual Visit is a transformative journey for our rural school students in Greece aged 15 to 17. Situated near Athens, Thessaloniki, and Aitoloakarnania, these teenagers, thriving in a closed environment with limited opportunities, will virtually explore the ATLAS detector at the CERN laboratory. This initiative aims to break barriers, broadening their horizons by exposing them to the enchanting world of science and cutting-edge technology. The virtual experience seeks to boost self-esteem, instil confidence, and inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.

A group of 20 A-level students finished a particle and quantum physics course. To add modern-day context to their studies, introducing students to how particles are detected would be a fantastic idea. Gaining a greater understanding of research and inside laboratories is a unique opportunity and will hopefully inspire future physicists.
